  • ⏱️ Prep Time: 25 minutes
  • 🍳 Cook Time: 30 minutes
  • 🍽️ Servings: 4

Ingredients

Homemade Gnocchi

  • 2 medium potatoes, boiled and mashed
  • ½ cup all-purpose flour (plus more for dusting)
  • 1 egg
  • Pinch of salt

Tomato Cream G Sauce

  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 4 ripe tomatoes, finely chopped
  • ¼ cup milk or heavy cream
  • ¼ cup fresh basil, chopped (plus extra for garnish)
  • ¼ cup Tennessee Bob’s G Sauce (plus more for drizzling)
  • Garlic salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

Step 1: Make the Gnocchi Dough

Boil the potatoes until fork-tender, then drain and mash until completely smooth — no lumps. Let cool slightly. Mix in the egg and a pinch of salt. Add the flour gradually, mixing until a soft, slightly sticky dough forms. Don’t overwork it.

Step 2: Shape the Gnocchi

On a lightly floured surface, roll the dough into long ropes about ¾ inch thick. Cut into 1-inch pieces. Press each piece gently with a fork to create ridges (this helps the sauce cling). Set aside on a floured tray.

Step 3: Build the Tomato Cream Sauce

Heat olive oil in a large pan over medium heat. Add garlic and onion and sauté for 3–4 minutes until softened. Add the chopped tomatoes and cook slowly for 10 minutes until broken down. Pour in the milk or cream and blend smooth with a hand blender. Return to medium-low heat and simmer gently for 15–20 minutes.

Step 4: Add the G Sauce

Stir in the fresh basil, garlic salt, and ¼ cup of G Sauce. Taste and adjust seasoning. Keep warm on low heat.

Step 5: Cook the Gnocchi

Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook the gnocchi in batches — they’re done when they float to the surface, about 2–3 minutes. Remove with a slotted spoon directly into the sauce.

Step 6: Plate & Serve

Toss the gnocchi gently in the tomato cream sauce to coat. Serve in bowls, garnished with fresh basil leaves and a generous drizzle of Tennessee Bob’s G Sauce. 🌵

Tennessee Bob’s Tip

“Don’t skip the hand blender on the sauce — that silky smooth texture is what makes this dish. And be generous with the G Sauce drizzle at the end. That’s the whole point.”
